Yata no Kagami is an Energy Bending Emission and Transmutation technique Crafted by Rai Narukami.
Background[]
After his defeat at the hands of the Lord Captain of the Imperial Guard, Toshiro Kurosawa, Rai Narukami identified three main weaknesses that led to his defeat. One of these weaknesses was the lack of a proper defense from enemy attacks aside from evasion. Therefore, Narukami began to develop a technique that would allow him to counter any kind of attack from any angle; to essentially supplement his ultimate offense in his Weapon Release with a powerful and decisive defensive maneuver. In order to develop this technique, Narukami trained in the use of Emission instead of his usual Alteration, utilizing his fine Aera control in order to create a wall of energy around him. Over time, the ability developed into a powerful sphere of energy around him with the power to counter nearly any kind of force that hits it, perfectly suiting Narukami's needs.
Overview[]
Yata no Kagami takes the form of a sphere of energy around Narukami with the strength to counter and blast back all kinds of attacks that encounter it, being nearly impenetrable and capable of blasting back anything it touches with its massive pressure. The technique is activated instantaneously with an outward hand motion, and has a very small cooldown time. However, the technique is extremely limited in range, only encircling Narukami's immediate vicinity, and the wall cannot be held up, only acting as a powerful burst that lasts approximately half a second. The technique's range and duration cannot be increased by any means, but its power can be determinate, being light enough to gently push the air around him to powerful enough to shatter an entire boulder that hits it.

- The name of this technique comes from one of the three Imperial Regalia of Japan, the mirror.
- The ability is based on Shinra Tensei from Naruto.
