Unicorns are a species of animals found in Endless Utopia Online.
Biology[]
Unicorns are best described as elegant, equine creatures distinguished by a single spiraling horn protruding from their foreheads.
Their fur is typically pure white, pale as milk, matching their flowing mane and tail. On rare occasions, unicorns may appear in shades of cream or soft pink, though these variations are exceedingly uncommon. Their hooves are golden, silver or gray, as are their nostrils and mouth, giving them a refined, otherworldly appearance. Unicorns have striking black eyes.
The iconic spiraling horn, crafted from bone, can be white, gold, or silver and may grow up to thirty centimeters in length. In rare cases, unicorns may be born with two or even three horns, referred to as "Bicorns" or "Tricorns," respectively. However, these variations are simply rare genetic traits of the same species.
Behavior[]
For the most part, a Unicorn's behavior is quite similar to that of their equine brethren.
A typical tamed Unicorn is social and curious, often forming strong bonds with other Unicorns and people. As herd animals, they prefer to remain in groups for safety and companionship. Unicorn communicate using body language, vocalizations, and facial expressions, displaying a range of emotions from calm and relaxed to alert and anxious.
These creatures are generally playful, enjoying activities like running, playing, and interacting with one another. They exhibit a strong flight response to potential threats, often fleeing from unfamiliar or stressful situations.
In contrast, a savage or untamed Unicorn displays more instinctual behaviors, characterized by a heightened flight response and occasional aggression. They tend to be skittish and wary of humans and their surroundings, showing signs of hostility or defensiveness, such as pinning their ears back, raising their head, and stomping their feet when threatened. When approached, a savage Pegasus may rear, buck, bolt, or, in extreme cases, attack. Their instinct is to flee from danger rather than confront it, and they often struggle to trust people due to limited contact.
However, untamed Unicorns can be broken, tamed, and eventually trained to exhibit calm and focused behavior, particularly during riding or work.
Though typically tamed by Fairies and Terrans, they are not particularly hard to tame as Fiends, Avians and occational Nymph and Dracos have as well.
Trivia[]
- Unicorns can reproduce with Pegasi, their offspring being an hybrid between the two, in other words, a Unicorn with wings. They also can reproduce with common horses.
- If broken, a Unicorn's horn can regrow.
