Description[]
WHERE WILL YOU BE WHEN IT ALL ENDS?
Some months and years have passed since the events that transpired after the end of the War of Underworld had come to a climactic conclusion. With the staggering fight over, the world was ready to return to normal... until the day its enemies of both present and past brought forth its end and the rise of chaos. Watching its fall firsthand are Kirito and Asuna, its only living survivors who lost not only their loved ones and friends, but also their will to follow the Light.
With all hope and light wiped off, they now walk the path of darkness to survive what comes ahead in the actual world. But, even in the shadows of evil, will they fight for one another?
The curtain rises on the final chapter of the SAO series' longest and most climatic battle and the rise of their powers that have emerged from the fragments of what the world would come to call the Pyramids.
Synopsis[]
"We meet at last, Kazuto... Narusaka."
Before he knows it, Kirito has found himself face-to-face with a being too powerful and too dangerous to be kept alive. With only a sword and his will to defend him, he expects to meet his impending fate within the virtual world he calls home.
But instead, she gives him answers from the deepest of all memories and knowledge... and a vision too good to be true.
"Why are you telling me this?"
"Everything you have always dreamt about... shall become all yours."
He suddenly sees his entire past unravel before him. One moment, he saw himself saving Sachi and her guildmates in less than one second, and then the next thing he knew, he found himself in that same hospital room where he first met Sugou, only this time, he has already done away with Asuna's would-be captor while simultaneously embracing her not long after her slumber ended.
"Asuna-chan..."
"I love you, Kirito-kun."
His mind suddenly drifts around him as he races deeper into this dream world, running towards himself reviving Eugeo, coming upon a childhood that he couldn't help but yearn for... a memory that he should never have had in the first place. And in this memory, he sees himself as a boy, surrounded by toys, stuffed animals, bright decorations, and his parents.
"Happy birthday, son!"
"Thanks, Daddy! Thanks, Mommy!"
"We love you so much, Kazuto... our sweet baby."
"Mama... Papa..."
When he opens his eyes again, he sees himself next to Asuna, holding their baby son while he cradles their baby daughter.
"He has your eyes, Kirito-kun."
"She has your smile, Asuna-chan."
"Yuna... Kuro... Everything's going to be okay. Mommy and Daddy will keep you safe."
He smiles sweetly as he sees all this, tears running down his face. This is a dream come true... no, a dream that would become a reality.
"Why does all this feel so real?"
"Because it's all true."
With everything that would soon come his way, he can have everything he wants within the snap of a finger.
"Why be a HERO... when you can become a GOD?"
Because in a world of swords and guns, the truth is the most dangerous weapon of all. And it is a terrifying truth that must never be allowed to survive.
Weeks have passed since Kazuto Kirigaya was outed as the Black Swordsman and arrested for crimes he didn't commit. Now trapped, weak, and all alone in a hostile prison, he struggles to survive its brutality and maintain what remains of his sanity.
Besides him is a mysterious ally, who has suffered a fate similar to his, vowing to regain the will to fight he once had as a soldier. As this man devotes himself to looking after the former Black Swordsman and the other innocent prisoners, Kazuto finds out that his time as a hero is on the verge of running out.
"Welcome to hell, Swordsman."
Meanwhile, in the darkest territories of Japan, the Mistress of Evil has resurrected, as if to have waited a long time for this very moment. Leading an army of dark forces, heartless player-killers, and vicious monsters, they begin their assault into the heart of the Ocean Turtle in hopes of destroying the one thing that has kept the Swordsman's legacy alive: the World Seed.
At the same time, Kazuto's friends and allies prepare for an impending war of an unimaginable and catastrophic scale against the armies of the Overtakers, struggling to brace themselves for a life without their hero.
Despite their pleas, it might not be enough to give them a fighting chance against this terror... and end an old curse that still threatens humanity's very existence.(TBA)
