Soul Bond is a technique used by Beast Tamer to create a metaphysical bond in the form of a seal between them and their Tamed Beast by using their Aera.
To create the bond it is necessary to interact with the desired animal for a prolonged period, and for it to be willing to bond. The time and method of bonding varies from animal to animal. For instance, Direwolves and Forked Cats require less time than Dragons and Hydras. Also, a younger animal will be easier to bond with than a fully grown wild one.
Over time, this technique materializes in the form of a seal, typically on the hand or forearm of the user. The shape of the seal typically resembles the tamed beast. At the same time, a similar seal appears somewhere on the tamed beast.
The seal allows both to develop the ability to understand each other's feelings and to even sense their presence even at long distances. Though it does not allow them to communicate through language, it allows the tamed beast to better understand simple words or commands.
This technique must be learned to become a Beast Tamer and is considered a requirement for any techniques related to Beast Taming.
If either the user or his tamed beast dies, the bond is broken. The one left alive is free to create a new bond with a new partner.
