Skinchanger is a technique that allows the user to transfer his consciousness to other beings, typically animals or, in exceptionally rare cases, people.
It is much easier for an Aera User to do so if a bond exists between the two parties, which is why Beast Tamers can learn this technique on their Tamed Beast in less time than other Aera Users. It is possible to skinchange into other beasts, such as dogs and cats. Birds are also typical targets of this technique. Mystical creatures, such as Dragons, Hydras, or Krakens, are tremendously difficult to control. Masters of skinchanging can manipulate a group of different animals (albeit only one at a time), and some can even enter any mind they desire.
Being physically close to the animal also plays a factor in the effectiveness of this technique. All skinchangers have a limit in their range of control.
It is also possible for skinchangers to seize control of another person, but this is widely considered a wicked thing to do. Also, a powerful mind may be able to fight back control of its own body.
Using this technique renders the user unconscious, leaving his body quite vulnerable. At the same time, spending too much time inside the mind of an animal can have unfavorable effects on the mind. Only one animal may be controlled at a time.
