Moonlight Edge is an Energy Bending Alteration technique in Endless Utopia Online.
Description[]
Moonlight Edge is the result of a near-perfect balance between the combination three of the Advanced Principles of Aera, Aera Point, Aera Enfold and Aera Focus. Through Aera Enfold, the user is able to surround his weapon with Aera, enhancing its abilities, and with Aera Point and Focus, he is able to regulate the amount of Aera surrounding the weapon, quickly switching the percentages at will.
The Aera surrounding the weapon makes it shine in a white-silver color, hence the technique's name.
Due to its simplistic nature, this technique is typically learned by Alterers who have good control over Aera Focus and Aera Flow, and also wield a weapon in combat. It's also very used by Emitters and Transmuters.
This technique can only be used when weapons have a blade, but there is a variation for blunt weapons, such as maces, hammers, or staffs.
Change to Narukami[]
This gives his twin scythes, Mangetsu, much more cutting power than normal, and even provides an increase in range as the Aera pressure is capable of cutting into targets beyond the reach of the blades themselves. Narukami is further able to use this ability to spin his dual scythes on their chains, allowing him to effectively turn them into flying buzz-saws that he can lash out at his enemies. The spin also further enhances the range of the Moonlight Edge, effectively creating an invisible cutting field around the blades that expands as the spin speeds up, making the weapons incredibly difficult to evade, as Narukami is further capable of altering their movements easily, being able to turn them around on a dime and continue to assault a target.
The field produced is also capable of defending against certain Aera Arts that operate at range, being able to deflect such abilities, especially while Mangetsu's blades are spinning, with Narukami capable of holding them nearby to guard against such attacks.
Care must be taken with this technique, however, as the more power Narukami puts into the blades, the less he has for himself, thereby making himself more vulnerable in exchange for more attack power.
