Legionnaire Law Enforcement (LLE for short) is an Armored Nexus Online Corps officially sanctioned by the game's administrators as its primary police force and law enforcement agency. Due to overwhelming player popularity, LLE has complete coverage across the game map with various regional Branches reflecting the real life Japanese police. Colloquially known as Legionnaires, Corps members have unique permissions to assist in tracking and capturing criminal players.

Background[]

When Armored Nexus first launched, Legionnaire Law Enforcement formed as a mercenary guild offering private security services and in-game crime investigation. Its popularity steadily grew, becoming one of the fastest growing Corps in the game's history. Due to the gradual growth and overwhelming reach across the map, LLE reorganized itself and adopted a formal ranking system mirroring real police and military forces. Even ANO's administration caught wind of LLE, and so they were officially sanctioned as the game's premiere, player-led police force. From day one, their goal has not changed: punish deserving criminals and uphold the general peace.

After the organization, LLE's private security consulting and crime investigation were reorganized into their own units while the Corps focused on training its massive player base on protecting the peace. Whenever a Rogue Ace (criminal player) is reported, the LLE were to be alerted and dispatched to the area. If the players had committed criminal activity and evaded detection by the game's system, Legionnaires were given special permissions to overwrite a player's status and deem them Rogue. Everyone, admin or player, refers to this forced status change as the Legionis Authority. With this Rogue status, criminal players would have their likeness shared en masse, making hiding and evasion far more difficult. Of course, Legionnaires would have to submit all relevant player data to the admins to ensure this permission was not being abused.

While their initial logo was simply the initials of their Corps name in stylized letters, it has since evolved into a more intricate design. Nowadays, LLE's logo is that of a white spiral with a stylized E at the bottom, featuring two gold wing patterns that incorporate stylized Ls into them and a blue halo above it. Underneath this symbol lies the Corps Motto: Exitus Acta Probat.

Base[]

LLE's main headquarters is a simple, multi-structure building consisting of various floors to accommodate a large amount of holding cells for apprehended criminals, and offices for individual players stationed in the building. Though externally simple, its chiseled marble construction is reinforced by steel beams and several layers of armor compiled from all LLE-affiliated players to withstand any and all potential threats. All of its outsourced offices located in every city, prefecture, and ward are scaled down versions of this main headquarters building, with their size depending on the optimal design for the area they're being built in.

Known Teams[]

  • Anti-Nanotech Force - Recently established due to the Asura's Wrath Incident, the Anti-Nanotech Force is an LLE subdivision focused on Nanotechnology-based crimes. Due to recent concerns about defective, game breaking products, ANF Team 01, led by Orthros (Isamu Hirose), has been assigned to monitor and liaison with Erde Enterprise.
  • Elite Detachments - LLE has various Elite Detachments operating under their jurisdiction, each with additional permissions corresponding to their operations. They are equivalent to real-life SWAT teams, often operating with standard Detachments while taking on more extreme or incredibly specific objectives befitting their Elite duties. When an Elite Detachment is active, their objectives take precedence, and once their mission is complete, they can and will exfiltrate before normal Legionnaires. They include:
    • Reconnaissance and Scouting Unit: Neuron - Neuron is an advanced recon network consisting of multiple teams focused on stealth, information gathering, and early warning. Owing to their clandestine nature, Neuron is not publicized in any capacity and simply referred to as the Legionnaires' "information network." Neuron Legionnaires have the added Legionis Perception ability, allowing them to eavesdrop unassisted from a greater distance than the average player.
    • Aggressors of the End: Apocalypse Tetrad - A 4-man elite task force assigned to the most dangerous and high-risk missions, the Apocalypse Tetrad are a highly-aggressive guerilla unit operating with higher authority in offensive operations. That said, most Legionnaires often mock them due to their incredibly eccentric personalities. Ironically, the Apocalypse Tetrad have no additional perks beyond their higher mission precedence.
  • Explosive Ordnance Disposal - The EOD Unit is sent in to areas where hazardous explosives have been reported and are given top priority when operating in such areas. They also handle Unexploded Ordnance. Due to their specializations, they follow specific and uniform Armor Model criteria optimized for anti-explosives operations.
  • Maritime Detachments - For naval and amphibious operations, the LLE hosts several Maritime Detachments with unique transports and amphibious Armor Models.
  • Private Security Detachments - A hold-over from its early days, LLE's Private Security Detachments are among its most commonly deployed teams due to its origins. PSDs have the widest variety in team size, ranging from a three-man team to a 20-man unit depending on the severity of the contract.
  • Investigative Teams - Carried over from their origins, LLE's Investigative Teams consist of 5-10 members dispatched to investigate crime scenes or undertake stake outs/sting operations. Though they are trained in combat, their primary objective is de-escalation and avoiding direct confrontation. If negotiations break down, they typically call for backup before resorting to their Armor Models. When the Legionnaire's best detectives can't crack the case, they'll call in the Astray Detective.
