Josuke Esumi (江角ジョー輔, Esumi Josuke?) known as Magis in «ALfheim Online» (ALO), as well as «Project Alicization»,is the deuteragonist of the Fairy Dance Arc he was a closed friend of Kazuto Kirigaya since elementry school.
Magis was chosen to be one of the one thousand beta testers for the closed beta of Sword Art Online, the first ever Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) for the NerveGear, however he didn't get the chance to play official version due to the game have been officially sold out there by avoid being one of of the 50,000 players to be trapped in Sword Art Online
