Hel was an Executioner BST-Frame that remains unrecovered in Armor Blitz Online.
History[]
Hel was the sister unit of BST-13 Fenrir, fielded during the second half of The Cataclysm War and piloted by Seline Argus. At the very end of the war, it was sent to hunt down a Prophet and a group of escorting rogue BST-Frames, along with its sister unit Fenrir. Seline was responsible for destroy three of the escorting BST-Frames singlehandedly, before being sent away by her brother Nero, the pilot of Fenrir, while he engaged the Prophet. Following it into a hole opened up by the Prophet at the South Pole into an unknown facility underground, Seline flew out at speed to alert their superiors of the situation. When the Great Cataclysm occurred, Hel completely lost power and crashed into the southern Atlantic Ocean, where it sank to the bottom.
Appearance[]
Hel possessed a sleek and sharp design featuring both smooth contours and geometric edges, sharing a similar design to its sister unit, Fenrir. It possessed a color scheme of black and white and featured a head in the shape of a bird. It featured a set of split pylons attached to pivots on the base of its shoulders, acting as its primary wing thrusters that could close and open to provide thrust as well as move up and down and side to side to provide vectoring. It also possesses smaller thrusters mounted on the knee joints, as well as flush with the back of the legs to provide additional thrust and vectoring. Its energy color is green,
Weaponry[]
Hel carries its weaponry internally and integrally with the frame, as all other BST-Frames do.
Energy Blade - Hel's primary melee armament, consists of two arm mounted energy blades used for close range combat. The blade is powerful enough to cut through most targets with ease, and is able to break through AD Barriers with sustained attacks.
Twin Blade - Hel's primary physical armament is a large bladed weapon that consists of two parallel blades that extend out from the left arm, acting as a large sword that can cleave through targets and shatter AD Barriers. The blade is heavy but possesses long range and extreme power.
Rapid Energy Caster - A single rapid energy caster mounted to the right forearm is used as Hel's primary ranged weapon. It is capable of continuous sustained fire that can suppress targets and destroy smaller opponents. Additionally, it is capable of charging up energy and releasing it in a series of homing lasers that seek targets and can pierce through multiple enemies at once.
Head-Mounted Rotary Cannon - Two head-mounted rotary cannons that can be used for point-defense as well as to cause massive damage at close range. The rotary cannons are capable of letting loose a massive amount of firepower, firing armor-piercing explosive shells that can easily tear apart any target up close through sheer volume of fire.
Telescopic Railgun - Attached to either hip is a telescopic railgun that can be fired at extremely distant targets, utilizing physical projectiles in order to further bolster its role as an Executioner. The shots fired from these railguns are extremely accurate and capable of causing devastating damage, with the ability to easily shatter AD-Fields from massive distances and hit the target beyond.
AD Cannon - Hel possesses a single AD Cannon utilized with its Twin Blade. The blades of the sword act as energy pylons in order to funnel energy through the arm and fire off massive blasts of AD Energy. Using the weapon, Hel is capable of releasing powerful bursts of energy that can outright destroy most targets with ease. However, the AD Cannon can be charged for an extended period of time and released in an extremely powerful beam that can annihilate anything it hits. This requires a large amount of the frame's AD Field to be siphoned into the weapon, and the charging period leaves the frame immobilized and defenseless, making it extremely vulnerable. However, the scale of damage the weapon is capable of causing is beyond most other BST-Frame's capabilities. While Hel's AD Cannon is more powerful individually than those of Fenrir, in terms of sheer firepower Fenrir's twin AD Cannons carry the advantage compared to Hel's single unit. However as a result Hel's AD Cannon is quicker to charge and the frame is capable of regaining its AD Barrier much faster after firing, leaving it defenseless for a shorter duration than its sister unit, allowing Hel to make more liberal use of its AD Cannon than Fenrir.
This weapon used with the Twin Blade also facilitates Hel's most powerful single target attack used to destroy other BST-Frames as an Executioner, by impaling or trapping an enemy with the blade and then firing off its AD Cannon at point blank range. This attack is able to easily pierce through a BST-Frame's AD Barrier before delivering an extremely powerful shot from its AD Cannon, resulting in devastating damage.
Performance[]
Hel possessed peak performance even among other BST-Frames. In terms of speed and maneuverability, it was nearly unmatched, and additionally its weaponry was extremely powerful for a frame of its size and performance. The special wing thrusters mounted on the shoulder joint allowed for a full 360 degrees of thrust vectoring around its pivot, providing a wider range of thrust vectoring and outmatching most other BST-Frames in agility. It featured heavy ranged armaments with its twin railguns and rapid energy caster, but was more suited to close range combat, utilizing its extreme speed and maneuverability to quickly cut down its targets. Its large twin blade made for an extremely destructive weapon, and it was capable of using the AD Cannon with it for extreme destruction. In addition, its head-mounted rotary cannons offered a last line of defense at extreme close range, able to tear apart enemies through sheer volume of fire. Despite its speed and maneuverability, the frame was extremely durable, featuring redundant systems to allow it to fight with sustained heavy damage.
As with all BST-Frames, Hel possessed a powerful AD-Field used for multiple functions, from providing power to the frame to defending the frame from attacks. Hel's AD Barrier was capable of defending against nearly all attackers, only being properly challenged by other AD Barriers. Hel did not have feet, and it instead floated on its AD Field, while having been able to deploy small skids at the back of its legs for added stability on the ground.
As with all BST-Frames, Hel could utilize its HALO System for a massive power boost and increase in combat performance. In this mode, the energy color of the frame changed from green to a bright turquois, and the armor segments split to reveal a glowing turquois frame underneath. This form drastically boosted the frame's performance in power and speed, and further, as an Executioner, it could utilize its AD Field for offensive purposes, giving it access to an extremely powerful energy weapon that was near undefeatable.
As an Executioner, Hel was able to utilize AD Shift, which allowed it to effectively teleport around the battlefield. This massive speed advantage gave Hel a decisive edge in combat, and allowed it to appear by an enemy and dispatch it before disappearing just as quickly.
Trivia[]
- Hel's name is derived from Norse mythology, with Hel being the sister of the black wolf Fenrir, a theme directly translated to Hel and Fenrir being sister units.
