Background[]
Early Life[]
Cyratel was a powerful being that existed long ago, and was the younger twin brother of Tyrael. Widely considered to this day as the most powerful individuals to ever walk Creation, Cyratel was originally revered and even worshipped as a deity by many, due to his unique abilities over Void. It was the belief of many that Cyratel must be a sort of god, as a being born naturally able to wield Void to such an extent was never seen before. It was due to this that Cyratel was treated as a deity at a young age due to his extreme innate power that surpassed even Nephilim.
As he grew older, Cyratel began to fully grasp the extent of his abilities. It was foretold by The Harbinger that it was the destiny of a Void Avatar to unite all of Creation. Cyratel then decided to go on a journey across all the Worlds, becoming accustomed to, training with, and befriending all the races so that he may one day fulfill his destiny. Over time, however, as Cyratel observed Creation and its inhabitants, he noted a particular apathy and harshness to the world. This would only grow stronger over time, as Cyratel bore witness to more and more of the cruel realities of Creation. Cyratel began to become disillusioned with the world, and was further dejected by his inability to change things despite his immense power. This also had the effect of stymying his power, resulting in a slowed progression of his abilities.
The First Void Insurrection[]
As his abilities with Void grew, he began to be able to peer into time itself, seeing through windows across time. It was through this that he witnessed many atrocities from all the races across all of time, further and further crushing his hopes for Creation. He began to question the use of uniting a world that was so broken in so many ways. Consulting The Harbinger a final time, he asked if it was truly his destiny to unite all the races, questioning the possibility of such a task even to one such as himself. The Harbinger cryptically responded that the next steps Cyratel takes will decide the fate of Creation itself before affirming that it was a Void Avatar's destiny to unite all of Creation.
Left with these words, Cyratel pondered upon how he could achieve such a goal with the limited power he had, along with the evident slowing of his growth due to an increasing sense of cynicism. It was at this time that the Second Void Avatar, Yamato Haseo, appeared from thousands of years in the future. Yamato touched Cyratel's soul and unlocked his true power, leaving him with the simple message of "it all starts here." In the process, however, Cyratel glimpsed Yamato's own memories in return, briefly merging with him as two beings born of Void. He realized that the True Soul had already ordained his future, and that he was fated to be defeated. Filled with fury at the notion of being chained to fate in such a way, Cyratel vowed to consume all of Creation and the True Soul itself with Void, eliminating the past, present and future and ensuring he would not be bound by fate, and truly uniting all of Creation within Nothingness. With this newfound purpose, Cyratel would go on to begin The First Void Insurrection.
Eventually, Cyratel was defeated by Lord Knight Falken, who sealed him within Void, unable to completely destroy his entire essence.
Revival[]
Cyratel's essence remained in Void for millennia after his defeat until the Advanced Evolution Project managed to pull him from the Void using the power of the second Void Avatar, Yamato Haseo, and manifest his Soul in an attempt to harness his power for themselves. However, Cyratel immediately regained his sentience, and managed to escape the facility when it was destroyed in a massive release of power when Yamato was freed from his containment.
Regaining his power in Void, Cyratel began to hunt down both the True Soul and Yamato Haseo bringing about The Second Void Insurrection.
Personality[]
Originally kind-hearted and with a strong sense of responsibility due to his immense power, Cyratel made it a point to interact with and attempt to understand all of Creation. He lived among all the races over the course of his journey across Creation, learning from them and attempting to form bonds with all the races so he may one day unite them all. However, as time went on, Cyratel would slowly become disillusioned with the state of Creation, seeing how cruel and uncaring much of it was. His feeling of helplessness further pushed him towards a darker path, attempting to accumulate more and more power. As he became more dissilusioned and cynical, Cyratel began to regress in his abilities, receiving a noted decrease in his abilities due to his emotional state.
He would later develop an intense hatred for the True Soul, as he received a glimpse into the future due to the effects of Yamato Haseo unlocking his true power. He saw the inevitability of his defeat, as it was a necessary event ordained by the True Soul in order to preserve the timeline and the order of Creation. He vehemently resented this and sought to break free of the True Soul's influence by consuming it and Creation itself into Void.
Cyratel notably had a strong bond with his sister, Tyrael, as well as his former closest friend Falken. Cyratel respected the will and ability to choose freedom and claim it for oneself more than anything, and those with such qualities garnered great respect from him. Cyratel came to deeply respect Ishi Haseo, describing his strength and willpower as "beyond anything [he has] ever seen in a Human, Angel, Demon or Nephilim." The will and power to act on one's convictions regardless of what sacrifices needed to be made were traits that Cyratel admired in Ishi despite the second Voidwalker being his opposite and nemesis.
Abilities[]
According to ancient texts, Cyratel displayed incredible control over Void even before the Insurrection, becoming one of the most powerful being ever seen at a young age. Because of this, he was considered a deific figure, and was treated as such by many. He slowly began to become more and more in-tune with Void, and only became more powerful as a result.
Cyratel was known to have wielded the Void Soulblade, the weapon becoming his signature power, allowing for terrifying combat ability. Further, he was the only confirmed user of any form of Reality Alter, possessing the ability to essentially become intangible at will by rewriting the causality of being struck by an object, causing the object to simply pass through him. This made Cyratel essentially untouchable by normal means, and for all intents and purposes made him invincible.
