Black Voice is an Energy Bending Illusion technique used in Endless Utopia Online.
Description[]
Black Voice is an Illusion technique that allows the user to control others through speech. By focusing Aera around the stomach, lungs, throat, and mouth, the user can project commands through their voice.
Once the receiver hears the order, he is compelled to obey or act upon the order, even if he has reluctancy to do so. If the technique's user is skilled enough, the reciepient can enter a black-out-like state which lasts until they complete the ordered task. Once it's over, the subject knows what he's done, since he heard the order before dozing off (albeit if the user uses the technique several times, the listener will only rememer the first one).
Black Voice can be used on one or several targets at once. It can also be used on a single precise person of a small crowd.
Strengths[]
The primary strength of Black Voice is its immense versatility since the technique is based on language. It is also effective against any opponent. Anyone unaware of how to defend against it would be helpless against the user's words.
Black Voice works the best with simplistic and short commands that can be performed in situ, such as "come here", "go there", "run" or "stay still". Overly long or complex orders tend not to be as effective with this command, if effective at all. It also works the best when the one emitting the technique has more Aera or a superior rank to the receiver, as the target is therefore psycologically compelled to perform the action out of fear or their own desire to comply.
Weaknessess[]
A recipient cannot be ordered to do something they naturally cannot do. It also cannot be used to order someone to commit suicide.
With sufficient natural ability and training, one could become more resistant to the effects of Black Voice. That being said, the technique may temporarily stun the target.
Since it's a technique that depends on sound, sound users can deflect or diminish the technique's power. Deaf people are inmmune to Black Voice.
Trivia[]
- Black Voice is classified as an Illusion and not a Manipulation since it can only control rational people that understand what they hear. Black Voice cannot be used on animals.
