Black Threads are strings created by members of House Bael and used along with Tailor's Hands to perform their main inhereted technique, Black Widow.
Background[]
Due to the necessity of always having threads at hand to use their principal inherited technique, Black Widow, the Baels created the Black Threads. They wove and tied hundreds of hairs creating incredibly long threads. Once these were long enough, they were alchemically treated with natural oils harvested from wild animals. This process made the threads impervious to fire, and incredibly resonant to Aera. The alchemic process also turns every thread black, hence the item's name.
Once a thread was completed, it was stored in a large spool. Users of Black Widow typically carry at least one of these with them.
Once the alchemic process was perfected, the Baels realized that hair that had been exposed to Aera for a long time was far more prone to become more powerful, so they began growing their hair and cutting it. Over time, it became a family tradition to remove all the hair of the deceased before their funeral and to turn these into black threads.
Appearance and Characteristics[]
The Black Threads are thin and long strings. They can reach several hundred meters long and be thin enough that only someone with enhanced eyesight can see them. Thanks to the alchemic process they were treated, they conduct Aera incredibly well, turning incredibly hard and sharp when the user wishes. The threads cannot be burned.
