Basilisks are a species of animals found in Endless Utopia Online.
Biology[]
A basilisk is a snake that can grow up to 15 to 20 meters long, with green skin and golden yellow eyes. Their scales are incredibly hard, but unlike their reptile cousins, the Dragons, they don't have a high resistance to fire.
When they are born, Basilisks have the size of a small adult snake, but they can grow massive over the years. An adult Basilisk is four or five years old. Despite their massive size, they are rather quick at the time of slithering across the ground
They process rather large curved teeth, and a bite of a basilisk is almost always deadly due to their venom, as it is an extremely poisonous substance. Basilisk venom is so powerful that it can kill a person within minutes, making the person drowsy and blurry-visioned before they die.
They are aquatic animals that live in lakes, swamps, and bogs. They occasionally may venture to an ocean, but this is rather rare to happen. They are more fond of warm climate and are typically found in the southern regions of Uthopos, albiet it's possible to find them in colder regions of the continent.
Besides Dragons, they are also related to Hydras and Sky-Wryms.
Behavior[]
Basilisks are rather violent animals. When feeling threatened, they often escape or attack. If they do attack, a quick bite is usually enough to send the attacker away.
They see even other basilisks as a potential danger, as cannibalism is not rare among them. This turns mating into a rather dangerous moment for both males and females.
Due to their violent nature, it's rare to find a beast tamer of a Basilisk.
