The 76th Floor of Aincrad was the first Floor reached by the front-line population following the revelation that Heathcliff was, in fact, Kayaba Akihiko. This particular Floor also marked the beginning of the final quarter of «Sword Art Online».
The Floor was reached on November 7th 2024.[1]

Settlements[]
The 76th Floor had only one settlement. This was a major departure from what had been seen on most Floors previously, which tended to feature the main settlement and a number of smaller settlements in strategic locations.
Arc Sophia[]
«Arc Sophia» was a large and bustling market town that catered to the needs of front-runners and casual shoppers alike. The settlements most distinguishing landmark was the «Teleport Gate», which was situated on a raised platform in the middle of a blooming garden.
Dungeons[]
Verdant Plains[]
The «Verdant Plains» were split into two parts: the «Western Plains» and «Eastern Plains». Most of the quests involved either specific hunts or fetch quests, and linked back to «Arc Sophia».
Temple of the Sword[]
The sole dungeon-style location other than the the 76th Floor's labyrinth was «The Temple of the Sword». Its function as a roadblock for players aside, the dungeon served to effectively split the «Verdant Plains» into its western and eastern halves.
The first of two «Field Bosses» was found inside «The Temple of the Sword».
76th Floor Labyrinth[]
The second of two Field Bosses was found guarding the entrance to the labyrinthe. Defeat of the Field Boss opened up a «Safe Zone» that was supplied by a merchant.

- I decided to retain «Arc Sophia» from Hollow Fragment as it serves as an effective hub for the purposes of story-telling.
- That said, the rest of the Floor is completely different.
